The Zimbabwe Republic Police is appealing for public assistance to locate a 43-year-old security officer who allegedly stole nearly $87,000 from a vault in Victoria Falls. The suspect, Jumani Chuma, was employed as a cash-in-transit officer at a local security firm, where he was responsible for managing the company’s funds.
The theft came to light after Chuma went missing from his workplace on March 30, 2026. Following his sudden disappearance, the company conducted an internal audit of the high-security vault, which revealed that a total of USD 86,989.00 was missing from the facility.
Authorities believe Chuma fled the resort city shortly after the money went missing. Investigations are currently underway to determine his whereabouts and recover the stolen cash. Police have urged anyone with information regarding Chuma’s location to report the matter to their nearest police station immediately to assist in his arrest.
