The Harareton Gala Ball, organized by Agora Club Zimbabwe, was a night filled with glamour, generosity, and community spirit. The event, held at Cresta Lodge, brought together distinguished guests, sponsors, and members of the Agora family to support the club’s ongoing efforts to empower young women at the Rafiki Girls Centre.
Under the new leadership of President Chido Musasiwa-Gutu, Agora Club Zimbabwe is set to expand its mission of service, friendship, and community empowerment.
The newly elected board for 2024-25 includes Vice President Avril Joseph, Treasurer Patricia Murambinda, Secretary Monalisa Sachikonye, and Projects Head Winnie Amadi.
The gala was a perfect occasion to introduce the board and reaffirm the club’s commitment to making a positive impact.

These leaders highlighted the strong bonds between women’s organizations across the region, emphasizing the importance of networking and collaboration.
Agora President Chido Musasiwa-Gutu highlighted the club’s achievements, including previous charitable initiatives such as the “Eyes for the World” project, donating reusable pads nationwide, and providing laptops to Salem Children’s Home.
The gala aimed to further these efforts by raising funds for Rafiki Girls Centre, an institution dedicated to empowering young girls with essential skills for self-sufficiency.
The gala featured a raffle and auction with goods generously donated by various sponsors. Enhle Health Spa, Providence, Brands for Less, Vitality Wellness, Inkwenkwezi Solar Energy, and Proweb were among those who contributed items such as solar lights, home appliances, wines, ciders, and organic fertilizers.
The event’s raffle and auction successfully raised funds to purchase critical items on Rafiki Girls Centre’s wish list, including an industrial sewing machine, overlocking machine, whiteboards, and a printer.
Multi Media sponsored a table for ten Rafiki girls to attend the gala, ensuring they could participate in the celebrations and witness the outpouring of support for their future.
The Harareton Gala Ball was more than just an elegant evening; it was a testament to Agora Club Zimbabwe’s dedication to sustainable growth and empowerment. President Musasiwa-Gutu outlined her vision for the upcoming year, focusing on expanding membership and strengthening ties within the Agora International family.
“Our current partnership with Rafiki Girls Centre aligns perfectly with our motto, ‘Building for Sustainable Growth.’ By supporting Rafiki, we’re investing in young women’s futures, equipping them with the skills they need to thrive,” said Musasiwa-Gutu.
