ALL is set for the inaugural ZimTalent Skits Competitions Awards ceremony, slated for Joina City’s Ster-Kinekor Cinema, tomorrow night.
The winners of the competition will walk away with a cash prize of US$1 000 plus a deal to shoot a movie or series, which will be produced by ZimTalent TV.
Popular Star FM Radio presenter, KVG Royalty, is expected to grace the event as a guest judge.
She will be alongside the likes of popular comedian Nigel the Slick Pastor, Yahya Goodvibes, who will be the Red Carpet host, Butterphly Phunk and rapper Takura Life.
The three teams, which are battling for top honours in the skits competition (Red, Blue and Black), all produced a total of nine skits, which were uploaded on the ZimTalent website, and social media platforms.
Viewers used that platform to vote for their favourite groups.
Ahead of the awards ceremony tomorrow night, ZimTalent TV projects manager, Nomagugu “Noma Nyce” Ncube, said the skits competition have benefited all the participants.
“As we are set to reward the best group, which produced the best skits on Friday, I have to pay homage to all the groups, which took part in the competition, as they worked hard to be creative.
“All of their skits are out of this world and I am sure the viewers, and the judges, will have a difficult time selecting the winners because they are all unique.
“As the organisers, we are happy with the work everyone put in to make this competition a success. Now, we look forward to Friday where the winners will be unveiled.”
Noma Nyce said they already have plans to start identifying new groups, which will take part in the second edition of the skits competition.
“The first edition went on very well and we were pleased with how the viewers reacted to the show, hence we already have plans to start identifying the next groups, which will contest in the next competition.
“We will unveil those plans on Friday,” she said.
