At the Palestinian Embassy in Harare yesterday, Ambassador Almassri called the world to take the responsibility and help stop the crisis in Palestine.
“The suffering in Gaza is a failure of humanity. The world cannot stay quiet,” he stated. He also called on leaders in the region and global organizations to push for justice and accountability.
The Government Media Office in Gaza shared updated data on the destruction and deaths caused by the conflict from October 7, 2023, to January 18, 2025. These figures show the harsh reality of 470 days of continuous attacks.
Key Statistics: 470 days of genocide.
10,100 massacres perpetrated by Israeli forces. 61,182 martyrs and missing persons, with 46,960 confirmed dead in hospitals.
14,222 bodies recovered, and 2,092 families completely wiped out. 17,861 children and 12,316 women among the martyrs.
Impact on Infrastructure and Education: Over 161,600 housing units completely destroyed, with another 82,000 uninhabitable.
137 schools and universities were obliterated, depriving 785,000 students of education.
823 mosques and 3 churches were targeted, showcasing the widespread destruction of sacred sites.
Health and Humanitarian Crisis:
More than 12,700 people require urgent medical treatment outside Gaza. 350,000 chronic patients are at risk due to a lack of medication.
2 million people displaced, with thousands forced into uninhabitable tents amid harsh conditions.
The updated report also documents the targeted killing of 205 journalists, 1,155 medical personnel, and 736 relief workers, which shows the occupation’s disregard for international humanitarian law.
Ambassador Almassri stressed the urgency of addressing these crimes, calling for all nations to amplify the Palestinian voice in international forums. “Help Palestine shape the future of justice and human dignity because the situation in Gaza keeps worsening in the hands of Israel.”
