Following the State’s withdrawal of its case citing inadequate evidence, Amir Edwin Mhaka, the teenager who was previously charged with distributing n*de images of Felisha Fifi Muzeya, has been exonerated of all charges.
Felisha was romantically involved with Amir; she is the comedienne Mai TT’s daughter. Amir appeared before Magistrate Ruth Moyo yesterday.
The State requested that the charges be dropped prior to Amir’s plea, alleging a dearth of evidence.
Admire Rubaya, Amir’s attorney, has contacted the Police Commissioner General to request a more exhaustive probe to ascertain the whole truth. Since Amir’s detention, new information has surfaced, according to Rubaya, calling for police action.

Amir Mhaka had worries about the public’s treatment of him because of Mai TT’s prominent social media presence. He said that Mai TT’s supporters had been harassing him online, and he felt obliged to call the police because he thought that if they conducted a thorough investigation, the National Prosecuting Authority might change its mind about charging him.
Amir described his experience surrendering his phone to officials who had bragmed about the strength of their cyber squad in order to comply with a search and seizure request.

He was surprised, though, when he was later asked for the phone’s password. In order to find any proof that Fifi had sent him the pictures, he also asked the police to look through her phone, implying that other people might have seen the pictures as well.
