Zimbabwean musician Braveman Chizvino, popularly known as Baba Harare, has revealed that he will release his upcoming album titled Greater and Wiser on 3 October 2025.
The Bikita-born Jiti music star, often hailed as the “King of Jiti,” made the announcement on his social media platforms, promising fans “a mature and wiser man.” He also confirmed that the project will feature a collaboration with singer Gemma Griffiths.
The pair previously worked together on the hit track Ndini Ndinaye, before Baba Harare briefly shifted his focus from secular music to gospel.
According to the artist, the album’s title reflects the lessons he drew from his gospel journey, which he says reshaped his outlook both personally and musically.
Having recently returned to Jiti music, Baba Harare’s direction on the new project remains a subject of speculation. Fans are eager to know whether Greater and Wiser will embrace the familiar upbeat Jiti sound or incorporate gospel influences that defined part of his career.
“Welcome back, Baba Harare. It’s great to see you sharing your talent authentically through Jiti music,” a fan said. Fans appreciate his return to the genre that made him a household name.
With another fan saying, “He should stop singing vulgar chete.” A few fans feel that Baba Harare’s past music was problematic.
Either way, the announcement has generated excitement across the local music scene, with supporters and critics alike anticipating what could become one of Baba Harare’s most defining works.
