ALICK “Zorai Butter” Macheso is tomorrow expected to drop five-star performances at the 2017 Zimbabwe Republic Police Commissioner’s Horse Race and Miss World Zimbabwe to be held at Borrowdale Racecourse and Borrowdale Brooke Golf Course respectively.
Macheso, who is among a stellar line up of artistes that will mesmerise at both gigs, has promised high-octane performances at the shows. Macheso’s publicist, Tich Makahamadze, said his paymaster lived for events like these, dismissing reports that he would not be at his best for the second gig due to fatigue.
“It is another chance for the band ‘Orchestra Mberikwazvo’ to share our romance with families at the event on Saturday and mdhara will be there for you. We urge people to come in their numbers to this mega event. Families, please bring your children,” Said Makahamadze, speaking about the ZRP gig.
He Added: “Macheso will be sampling songs from the upcoming album, which will be released soon. As you may know, our band is trained to perform for several hours, which is what we do, so these two gigs are not an issue.”
Speaking to showbiz, National Police Spokesperson Paul Nyathi said that a number of artists have been lined up for the ZRP Commissioner’s Horse Race.
“We have arranged for several groups to perform at the yearly held event and on board we have Macheso, Killer T, Bob Nyabinde and the Police Band,” said Nyathi.
The Fund was established in 1996 to help towards the educational requirements as well as the general upkeep of the families of deceased members of the force drawn from all provinces.
At Miss World Zimbabwe, Macheso will share the stage with South African star Ringo Madlingozi and Dr Tawanda.
