A Delta Beverages delivery truck transporting crates of opaque beer overturned early Monday morning along the notoriously dangerous Christmas Pass, triggering a chaotic scene as bystanders rushed to loot the cargo.
The truck, which landed on its right side, was severely damaged in the crash. As of now, authorities have not confirmed whether there were any injuries or fatalities resulting from the incident.
Video footage shared by The Manica Post shows dozens of people swarming the scene shortly after the accident, grabbing crates of beer from the toppled vehicle.
Some individuals were seen making off with multiple packs, undeterred by the wreckage or the presence of others recording the looting.

The cause of the crash remains unknown. Christmas Pass, a winding mountainous stretch of road leading into Mutare, has long been regarded as a high-risk zone due to its sharp curves and steep inclines. Several accidents have occurred in the area over the years, often involving heavy-duty trucks.
As the scene unfolded, there was no immediate police or emergency response visible in the footage, raising concerns over the slow reaction to crashes on such high-risk routes.
Delta Beverages and local law enforcement are yet to issue official statements regarding the accident and the apparent looting that followed.
More details will be provided as the story develops.
