The body of a gardener, Bob Karonga, who had been missing from Borrowdale, was discovered on Tuesday at a farm in Chegutu.
Karonga, who had been reported missing since March 20, was found near Itape Farm, where his sister, Loice Karonga, lives. He had been last seen leaving his workplace in Borrowdale, apparently to buy airtime, but never returned.
On Monday afternoon, Loice received a disturbing call from Bob’s employer. The employer explained that an unknown person had contacted him, claiming responsibility for Bob’s abduction.
The caller demanded sp*rm from the victim and sent an audio message along with explicit pictures of Bob, who appeared to be unconscious in bed. The kidnappers also mentioned that they would dump Bob in Gweru.

At approximately 5 AM on Tuesday, Loice found Bob’s lifeless body about 40 metres from her house on Plot 4 Itape Farm.
Relatives were shocked by the discovery, noting that there were no signs of a struggle or visible injuries on the body.
The deceased had also left behind watery stool, suggesting he had been unwell before his death.
The body was taken to the Chegutu District Hospital for further examination, pending a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
