A woman from Bulawayo has been jailed for stabbing her neighbor over clothes that fell off a washing line.
The 39-year-old Jester Tshuma made an appearance at the West Commonage Magistrates Court from Emthunzini, Bulawayo.
According to the State Prosecution, Jester got into a fight with her neighbor Sithembile Dube, 38, on February 19 of this year over Jester’s clothes falling off the washing line. Their dispute intensified, leading to a heated exchange of words.
Subsequently, Jester decided not to let go of the disagreement and grew quite irritated about it.
Sithembile went to the borehole to get water at about one in the afternoon. Jester pursued her and had Sithembile reiterate her previous statement. Jester was told to leave Sithembile alone.
Jester approached Sithembile, shoved her, and took her t-shirt out of her hand because she was furious and wanted to confront her.
Bigboy Nyathi, a witness, attempted to break up the brawl while he was at the borehole.
Seizing her opportunity, Jester stabbed Sithembile in the left side of the chest with an okapi knife that she had taken from her pocket.
