After a relatively low-profile pre-season, CAPS United is set to intensify its preparations for the 2025 Castle Lager Premier League campaign with a significant event in Harare today.
The Green Machine will officially introduce their technical partner and unveil their squad as they build momentum ahead of their season opener against GreenFuel on Saturday.
Despite encountering challenges during the off-season, including the departure of key players to rival teams, CAPS United remains focused on mounting a strong title challenge. Club CEO Morton Dodzo expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming season, emphasizing the importance of today’s proceedings.
“As a club, we’re excited to showcase our team for the new season. Today, we will unveil our kits and introduce our technical partner,” Dodzo said. “This moment is special for us as we present our new apparel and give our fans a preview of what lies ahead.”
The team is set to confirm Zimbabwean sportswear brand Viego as their official kit supplier. CAPS United has already been seen training in Viego-branded gear throughout the pre-season, making the partnership no surprise. Viego also provides kits for other local clubs, including Herentals and reigning champions Simba Bhora.
The unveiling event will feature various kit designs, including home, away, alternate, training, and warm-up jerseys, with replica versions available for purchase. The club also plans to auction off the first two replica jerseys of each type, while details on where fans can buy the kits will be disclosed during the event.

“We will auction the first two replica jerseys for each design, and some will be available for sale at the event. Additional replicas will be stocked in select retail outlets and supporters’ branches nationwide,” the club stated.
Although CAPS United lost several key players in the transfer window, they are determined to reclaim league glory, having last lifted the championship in 2016. This season, they face stiff competition from well-backed clubs such as Scottland, MWOS, and defending champions Simba Bhora.
To reinforce their squad, the Green Machine has secured over half a dozen new signings, including Zimbabwe internationals Kundai Benyu and Tanaka Shandirwa. They have also bolstered their ranks with foreign talent, welcoming Congolese midfielder Love Bissila Mabiala, Ghanaian goalkeeper Stephen Odai Kwaku, and former Namibian U-23 player Rowen Messy Tjihumba.
Other notable additions include ex-Highlanders midfielder Brighton Manhire, former Dynamos striker Nyasha Chintuli, midfielder Juan Mutudza, and ex-ZPC Hwange shot-stopper Harmony Nare. These signings aim to offset the departures of experienced players like Godknows Murwira, Lot Chiwunga, Ralph Kawondera, and William Manondo.
With fresh faces in the squad and a passionate fanbase rallying behind them, CAPS United is determined to launch a serious title bid in the 2025 campaign.
