The Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance Festival 2024 edition reaches its climax, and excitement is palpable. After nine thrilling provincial competitions with one more to go on Saturday, the stage is set for the National Finals at Mucheke Stadium in Masvingo on July 27, 2024.
The journey began on May 27, 2024, with provincial competitions that showcased an array of talented dancers and it drew significant crowds, creating a buzz among music enthusiasts and generating valuable sales opportunities for hosting outlets.
The top ten groups from across the country are now gearing up for the ultimate showdown, vying for the coveted top prize. The Finale promises to be an electrifying experience, with performances by renowned artists Jah Prayzah, Killer T, and Tocky Vibes.
Mashonaland East will be represented by Nyaungwe Dance Group (Mbende). Matabeleland South will have Bolamba Setapa. The winners of Matabeleland North, Pezhuba Pachena Nsumbuke Dance, will also battle for the crown.
Mashonaland Central winners Dzimbahwe Nengoma (Chinyambera) will fight to bring the prize to their region. Last year’s host, Harare, will be represented by Culture Warriors (Dinhe).

Masvingo’s winners Gango Mbakumba will fight to make history by winning the prize in their home province.
Mkango Malawi (Nyau) will represent the Midlands.
Manicaland winners Dapuraunanzva Arts Ensemble (Mbakumba) will also participate in this year’s finals. To compete in all 10 provinces Mashonaland West province winners Budiriro Arts (Mhande) will also try their luck.
The winners will walk away with $15, 000, while the first runners-up will pocket $10, 000, and the second runners-up will carry $7,500.
The entry will be free, and with performances starting at 10 a.m., the stage is set for an unforgettable experience. Don’t miss the Chibuku Neshamwari National Finals on July 27, 2024, at Mucheke Stadium in Masvingo.
