Businessman Wicknell Chivayo has gifted cars to three of Zimbabwe’s most iconic musicians—Mechanic Manyeruke, Olivia Charamba, and Leonard Karikoga Zhakata. In a heartfelt social media post, Chivayo explained that the gesture was inspired by the impact these musicians had on his life and that of his late mother, especially during difficult times.
Chivayo shared a personal reflection on his life, including the loss of his mother, Canisia Chivayo, who passed away on January 6, 2021. He expressed gratitude for her sacrifices and unwavering faith in his potential, which he credits for shaping him into the person he is today. He also honored her memory by visiting her resting place at Glenforest Cemetery.
The businessman revealed that, to mark his birthday in a unique way, he decided to honor these three music legends, whose songs like “Ndinamatire Ndigo Kunamatirawo,” “Ndiri Munana,” and “Hupenyu Mutoro” gave his family strength and hope during challenging times.
