The leader of DEMA Methodist Church in Zimbabwe, Reverend Shadreck Madzvamuse, commends the Government for its efforts in combating cholera through the Presidential Borehole Drilling Project.
In collaboration with Prevail Group, the Government aims to drill 350,000 boreholes across the country as part of the project. Prevail Group has already begun drilling boreholes in Harare and Bulawayo to address the cholera crisis affecting these major cities, with plans to expand operations to other regions.
Speaking to H-Metro during the commissioning of a solar-powered borehole in Dema over the weekend, Rev. Madzvamuse expressed gratitude to the Government for providing clean water to rural communities.
“Access to clean water is a fundamental right for all citizens, and we appreciate the Government’s efforts to drill boreholes in our area,” he stated. “Given the recent cholera outbreaks, we hope that such initiatives will greatly benefit our communities. It’s essential for us to cherish and protect this valuable resource.”
Chairman of Prevail Group, Paul Tungwarara, leading the Presidential Boreholes Drilling Project, confirmed that all necessary materials for borehole installation in Harare and Bulawayo have been acquired.
