A City of Harare traffic officer was injured this morning after being struck by a Honda CR-V that was attempting to evade traffic enforcement.
The incident occurred during routine traffic patrols in the city.
Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the officer, part of a group of traffic officers on duty, was in a traffic enforcement vehicle when the driver of the Honda CR-V tried to escape a stop order.
In an effort to halt the vehicle, several officers reportedly exited their car to block the Honda.
Despite their efforts, the driver refused to stop, hitting one of the officers in the process. The impact left the officer injured, and she was quickly attended to by her colleagues and nearby onlookers.

The condition of the officer was not immediately clear, but she was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The identity of the driver remains unknown, and it is unclear whether any arrests have been made following the incident.
This event has raised concerns over the safety of traffic officers who regularly risk their lives while carrying out their duties on Harare’s busy roads.
The City of Harare is yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
