Congregant Unaware as Car Destroyed During Makandiwa's Service

A high-speed collision involving a Toyota Fortuner has resulted in the destruction of four vehicles parked outside the United Family International Church (UFIC), commonly known as KwaMakandiwa, in Chitungwiza’s Zengeza 4 area.

The incident occurred during a church service, with congregants’ vehicles bearing the brunt of the impact.

Eyewitnesses report that the Toyota Fortuner, believed to be government-owned, was travelling at excessive speed when the driver lost control, failing to negotiate a turn and subsequently crashing into the parked cars.

One bystander recounted, “The Fortuner was over-speeding; I saw it fail to negotiate and hit four cars.”

 

Authorities responded promptly to the scene and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. A police spokesperson stated, “We are happy that police reacted swiftly, and they are now conducting investigations.”

 

No injuries have been reported among the church attendees. However, the incident has raised concerns about road safety and adherence to speed regulations, especially in areas with high pedestrian activity.

The United Family International Church, led by Emmanuel Makandiwa, is a prominent religious institution in Zimbabwe, attracting large congregations to its services.
