The countdown to Kinnah Birthday Bash has begun with several top Zim dancehall artists lined up to take part at the gig.
Most of the performing artistes have indicated that they were raring to go come Saturday April 9 at the Harare Gardens.
Already the gig has been dubbed” The Long Awaited Show” considering it’s the first such gig bringing a diverse line up.
In separate videos which are doing the rounds Silent Killer, Guspy Warrior, Ndunge Yut and MC Ganzo have all fired warning shots.
The bash put together by renowned Chipaz Promotions has been long time coming since the country went into lockdown.
And to spice the line-up Chipaz Promotions have gathered several heavy hitters on the scene these include, award-winning Nutty O, Seh Calaz, Enzo Ishall, Dadza D, Guspy Warrior, Hwindi President, Shinsoman, Silent Killer, Blot, uncle Epaton, Bazooker, Jah Master, Hwinza, Poptain, Lady Squanda, Kadija and Ital Fire.
Also on the ones and twos, there is going to the more fire with the DJs and selectors among them Garry B and Templeman, Etherton Beenie, Merciless Zimbabwe, Chipaz Sound, ChillSPot Family, Tipple Spliffers, DJ Cables and MC Ganzo.
This April, the Zim dance hall comes alive again after years in silence considering there were no gig of this maginitude.
Such shows bring yesteryear memories of the days of Cup Clashes normally held in August. But this time all the artistes are warming up to it starting with Kinnah’s Birthday Show.
More popularly known in Zim dancehall as Mr Mbare, Kinnah is one of the pioneers whose music has been consistent throughout his career.
Show Promoter Chipaz Chimbodza confirmed that Zim dancehall will not die a natural death for as long as they were still there.
“We are supportive of the genre and it will not die,” he said.
Admission to the show is US$5 all round.
