Two men, Thabo Blessing Dube and Martin Charlie, who had been on trial for the alleged rape of a woman identified as Mai Jeremaya, have been acquitted by the court.
The ruling came after a full trial in which the prosecution failed to present enough credible evidence to support the charges.

In delivering the verdict, the presiding judge stated that the state had not met the threshold of proving the allegations beyond a reasonable doubt.
The case, which had garnered public interest, concluded with the court reminding the public to uphold the principle of innocent until proven guilty and to refrain from drawing conclusions before the conclusion of judicial proceedings.
