The Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Dr. Tamer Almassri, has expressed his deep appreciation to the Zimbabwean government, led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, for supporting the United Nations General Assembly draft resolution on September 18, 2024.
The resolution, which backs the rights of the Palestinian people, calls for Israel to end its illegal occupation of Palestinian territories within one year and to compensate Palestinians for the damages caused by the occupation.
Dr. Almassri emphasized that Zimbabwe’s strong stance of solidarity has renewed hope for the Palestinian people, who continue to face widespread aggression and violence in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem.
He reiterated Palestine’s aspiration to achieve freedom, independence, and the establishment of a sovereign state with Jerusalem as its capital.
