Job Description: We are actively seeking proficient Rigid Dump Truck Operators to undertake operations within the mining sector. Successful candidates will play a crucial role in maintaining high productivity levels while ensuring strict adherence to all company safety and quality standards, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend daily safety meetings
  • Conduct pre-use inspections following the machine’s checklist
  • Identify and address issues such as leaks and loose bolts, ensuring all components are securely in place
  • Inspect work areas for hazards, prepare work areas, and promptly report identified hazards
  • Proficiently operate the dump truck
  • Inspect General Routine Tasks (GRTs) and operate the machine to prevent damage or premature wear and tear
  • Record and report plant returns and machine hours
  • Report service hours and assist the workshop during servicing
  • Report and document machine faults and downtime

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certificate in earth-moving machinery, specifically a rigid dump truck operator certificate
  • Minimum of 3 years of verifiable and pertinent experience operating a rigid dump truck in an open-cast environment
  • Experience in a coal mining environment is advantageous
  • Maturity and results-oriented mindset
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail
