The operation took place during the early hours of Wednesday morning in the Desai area of Mariannhill.

Additionally, they were under investigation for various other serious crimes in the vicinity.
The confrontation ensued when police received intelligence indicating that the suspects were planning a targeted attack.
Despite being caught off guard initially, the officers, described as “tactically astute,” managed to engage the criminals effectively, resulting in the neutralisation of the threat.
