Dynamos captain Frank Makarati stated that the team is gearing up for a tough match against Botswana’s Orapa United in the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round tie at Obert Itani Chilume Stadium this Sunday. With a 1-0 lead from the first leg, Dynamos only need a draw to advance to the group stages.
In an interview with NewsDay, Makarati emphasized their commitment to securing a positive outcome, saying:
“This is a match we have to win at all costs. We are ready to give our all on the field. A victory is crucial for the team and our supporters. For us players, winning enhances our careers, and qualifying for the group stages will put the country back on the football map. There’s a lot at stake in this match.”

He acknowledged Orapa as a strong team and anticipates a challenging game, stressing the need for full concentration throughout the 90 minutes due to their potential threat. Although they won the first match, he warned against complacency.
Makarati also indicated that Dynamos won’t adopt a defensive approach to protect their narrow lead, asserting that such a strategy would be unwise. Instead, they aim to take the initiative and score to secure their advancement.
