Ecosure Faces Social Media Backlash After Family’s Funeral Claim Is Denied Over Minor Payment Miss

A grieving family left their loved one’s coffin at an Ecosure branch after the funeral insurance provider denied their claim over a missed payment of just US$4 in the month the deceased passed away.

Ecosure, part of the Econet Zimbabwe Group, declined to cover the funeral costs, citing the missed payment, even though the family had made payments consistently up until then.

The family, feeling let down and burdened by unexpected expenses, left the coffin at the branch in protest, believing the decision was unfair. This incident has stirred anger on social media, with many people sympathizing with the family and questioning Ecosure’s strict policies. Public pressure is building on Ecosure to show more compassion in cases like this, though the company has respond to the criticism.
