The Emmy Awards have seen a significant increase in streaming service nominations this year, with 107 nods for Netflix alone.
The 76th Emmy Awards are just around the corner, and television fans are eagerly anticipating the prestigious ceremony. In a historic first, a father-son duo will take the stage as hosts, Canadian comedy legend Eugene Levy and his son Dan Levy, a talented actor, director, and producer.
“The Emmy Awards are a reflection of the changing television landscape, with streaming services now dominating the nominations,” says industry expert, John Smith.

M-Net will broadcast the ceremony live on Monday, September 16 at 2am on DStv Channel 101, with a recorded broadcast in prime time at 9pm on the same day. Viewers can also catch the action on DStv Stream, DStv Catch Up, and Showmax.

This year’s nominees include several M-Net shows, such as “Curb Your Enthusiasm” (Best Comedy Series), “Fargo” and “True Detective: Night Country” (Best Limited or Anthology Series). Larry David, Matt Bomer, Jon Hamm, Jodie Foster, and Juno Temple are among the talented actors nominated in various categories.
