For sports lovers and lounge lizards here are the ESPN and ESPN 2 broadcast highlights for 12-18 July 2024.
Australian Football League (AFL), Major League Soccer (MLS), the National Rugby League (NRL) and Major League Baseball (MLB) will all be featured on ESPN and ESPN 2 for DStv viewers from Friday 12 to Thursday 18 July 2024.

The first live action on ESPN arrives on the morning of Friday 12 July, as the Tampa Bay Rays take on the New York Yankees in Major League Baseball (MLB) (00:50 LIVE on ESPN). Later the same day, Australian Football League (AFL) takes center stage with Collingwood tackling Geelong (11:40 LIVE on ESPN).
The morning of Saturday 13 July features more AFL thrills and spills, as St Kilda visit Adelaide (11:30 LIVE on ESPN), before an evening MLB battle between the Chicago White Sox and the Pittsburgh Pirates (20:10 LIVE on ESPN).

Sunday 14 July is all about Major League Soccer (MLS), as the New England Revolution host Orlando City (01:30 LIVE on ESPN), before Real Salt Lake head to Portland for a clash with the Timbers (04:30 LIVE on ESPN).
Portland head coach Phil Neville believes his team is showing promising signs of growth: “We’re developing a mentality of not accepting defeat, making people accountable for what they’re doing, and guys are stepping up,” said the former Manchester United and Everton player.
More MLS action arrives on the morning of Thursday 18 July, with Inter Miami hosting Toronto FC (01:30 LIVE on ESPN), before Sporting Kansas City visit the Vancouver Whitecaps (04:30 LIVE on ESPN).

ESPN 2 will feature MLB on the morning of Friday 12 July, as the Arizona Diamondbacks host the Atlanta Braves (03:40 LIVE on ESPN 2), before midday brings kick-off in the National Rugby League (NRL) clash between the Sharks and the Wests Tigers (12:00 LIVE on ESPN 2).
Saturday 13 July offers up more NRL action, as the Titans host the Eels (09:30 LIVE on ESPN 2) in the morning, while the evening brings a MLB battle in which the Oakland Athletics will head to Philadelphia for a regular season game against the Phillies (22:05 LIVE on ESPN 2).

Philadelphia pitcher Taijuan Walker says he is striving to generate more speed, but it could put strain on his arm: “The velocity, if I’m locating my fastball, is good,” he explained. “My arm felt really good today. I thought the ball was coming out good. You know, 91-92 [miles per hour]. I guess I’m trying to create more velocity and it’s not happening.”
More NRL arrives on the morning of Sunday 14 July, when the Sea Eagles take on the Knights (08:05 LIVE on ESPN 2), while the evening pits the Milwaukee Brewers against the Washington Nationals in another MLB game (20:10 LIVE on ESPN 2).
And the MLB will feature its annual All Star Game on the morning of Wednesday 17 July (02:00 LIVE on ESPN 2). This 94th edition of the All Star Game will be held at the Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
