Former boxing champion Arifonso “Mosquito” Zvenyika is dealing with a marital crisis following shocking revelations about his wife’s extramarital affair. The affair reportedly included intimate messages where she referred to her lover’s private parts by his totem.
The identity of the man involved has emerged as Leonard Jamanda, who, in conversations with Mosquito, allegedly claimed that his wife had deceived him by saying she was a single mother.
When confronted with the evidence, Jamanda reportedly told Mosquito to “go and hang” in response to the accusations.
The situation took a dramatic turn when Mosquito returned home from the gym last Tuesday to find that his wife, Jesman Mutokonya, had left their home on Mushongandebvu Street in Mbare. She took with her most of the household belongings, including kitchen units, furniture, blankets, and food she had bought for the upcoming festive season. She also took their three children, aged 12, 8, and 3.
Mosquito expressed his frustration: “I came home and found the house in disarray. It feels like everything has fallen apart. Some thoughts are crossing my mind, but an advocate at the gym has advised me to take the legal route.”
Jesman later responded, saying: “They hacked my phone, and now they want to expose my private messages to the public.”
The affair came to light when Mosquito took his wife’s phone for repairs and discovered explicit text conversations between her and Jamanda. These messages revealed details of their affair, including sexual encounters and private exchanges. Some of the language used was graphic, but some parts of the conversation, such as “I’ll break your back, my friend,” were less explicit.
Jamanda, in his messages, bragged, “I’ve already had my fill these days.”
Mosquito shared his outrage with H-Metro, focusing on his anger toward Jamanda’s lack of remorse. When Mosquito confronted him, Jamanda reportedly told the boxer to divorce his wife if he believed she was unfaithful. He dismissed the confrontation, saying, “If you’re still fighting over your wife, then you’re a fool. A woman who cheats deserves to be left for someone better.”
He added, “Why are you complaining now? I also know what it feels like to have my woman taken from me.”
In his defense, Jamanda told Mosquito that if he wanted to pursue legal action, he should go to court. “But don’t waste my time anymore. Let’s meet in court as you say. If you think I’m the only one with such messages, think again.”

Mosquito, who has been married three times before, was hopeful his union with Jesman would last after they married in August 2016. Their wedding, held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Waterfalls, was a grand occasion with a live performance by the Police Band. Mosquito had hoped to settle down after having fathered twelve children in previous relationships.
