Fastjet Airlines has adopted Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG), the recently created currency. ZiG money is now accepted by the airline for payments and reservations.

The first airline to take Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) as payment is Fastjet Airlines.
Announced by Fastjet: Users may now make reservations and payments using ZiG money.
Fastjet Airlines has declared that they are now taking ZiG currency as payment in a message that was posted on its X account.
Customers can use ZiG currency to book and pay for their airplane travel, the airline disclosed.
“fastjet Zimbabwe is pleased to advise that we have successfully migrated to the ZiG currency.
Customers may now book and pay in ZiG.”
Furthermore, Fastjet has informed its customers that payments in ZiG currency can be made at any airport ticketing desk or Fastjet sales shops.

On April 4, 2024, Dr. John Mushayavanhu, the recently appointed Reserve Bank Governor of Zimbabwe, established the ZiG currency. Businesses have responded to the introduction of this structured currency in two ways: positively and negatively.
The move of Fastjet to adopt ZiG currency has been enthusiastically embraced by Zimbabweans, who have expressed gratitude to the airline for taking the local currency. Online users have praised Fastjet for this action.
