Yadah FC, a Zimbabwean Castle Lager Premiership team, has been sanctioned by FIFA for violating agreements with three previous players.
Three Brazilian players who signed outside of the transfer window last year Juan Luciano Farias, Deivid Pereira De Brito, and Joao Pedro Marques had their contracts revoked by the club.
The Footballers Union of Zimbabwe (FUZ) was the first party to hear the case; after that, FIFA’s case Resolution Chamber was consulted. FIFA decided in the players’ favor in June, directing Yadah FC to compensate the three Brazilians with $82,000 plus interest by July 27.

Yadah FC failed to meet this payment deadline, resulting in FIFA imposing a transfer ban on the club. Consequently, Yadah FC is prohibited from registering new players, a directive enforced by FIFA and cmunicated to the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA).
Under FIFA and CAF Club Licensing regulations, specifically under Financial Criteria, these actions are aimed at ensuring clubs honor contractual obligations and maintain financial integrity. The disciplinary measures are designed to uphold fair play and protect players’ rights within the football ecosystem.
There would be more repercussions if Yadah FC disobeys FIFA’s disciplinary decision. FIFA and CAF regulations may require the Premier Soccer League (PSL) to instruct Yadah FC not to register for the 2025 season.
