The VLIR-UOS ICP Connect Master’s Scholarships are offered to students from 29 eligible countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The scholarships provide the opportunity to pursue an English-taught Master’s program at a Flemish university or university college in Belgium.

10 scholarships are available for each Master’s program.

Latin America: Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, Haiti, Nicaragua, Peru
Scholarship Value/Inclusions/Duration:
The VLIR-UOS scholarships cover the full duration of the Master’s program (12/24 months) and include the following expenses: tuition fees, travel, insurance, and living expenses (board and lodging).
Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
– Nationality and country of residence: Candidates must be nationals of one of the 29 eligible countries and must be a resident of one of these countries (not necessarily the same) at the time of application.
– Age: Candidates must be no older than 35 years for an initial master’s program and 45 years for an advanced master’s program as of January 1 of the year of intake.
– Professional background and experience: Preference will be given to candidates employed in higher education, government, or civil society, or those aiming for a career in one of these sectors. Candidates from the private sector or recent graduates without work experience may also be considered if they can demonstrate a strong motivation and profile.
– Scholarship applications: Candidates may apply for only one ICP Connect scholarship per year.
– Previously awarded scholarships: Candidates must not have received a scholarship from the Belgian government to attend a study program and must not have enrolled in a study program at a Belgian higher education institution before January 1 of the year of intake.
Application Instructions:
Interested applicants must apply for both admission to the chosen program and the scholarship through the university’s website. When applying for the program, indicate your intention to apply for a scholarship. The application deadline varies and is determined by the program, but most deadlines fall around February 1 or February 28/March 1, 2024.
