One of the country’s oldest sound system Fya Lynx has roped in upmarket sound system Star Alliance in a combination that is set to illuminate the ghetto dancehall scene.
Fya Linx is fronted by Chief Selector Bonzo and is arguably one of the most popular sound system in the ghetto.
In an interview with Showbiz, Star Alliance co- founder Tatenda Musambasi aka DJ Tam Tam said he was ecstatic with the development.” Its a priviledge to be recognised by a big sound like Fya Linx and we will not dissapoint. Work with veterans is good for us and we will also bring uptown to ghetto and push reggae and dancehall music forward.”
The combination stages its first show tonight at Downtown nightclub at Machipisa Shopping Centre in Highfield.
Dj Tam Tam who is also part of Chill Spot Records management team will be playing alongside MC Superstar (real name Tafadzwa Madora) formerly part of Soul Jah Love’s Conquering Family.
Star Alliance is a rising sound that is popular at upmarket joints like Kebab Premier while Fya Lynx is a sound that was born and bred in the ghetto and artistes like Soul Jah Love have been part of the outfit’s movement.
Synergies have proved to be a major driving factor for the growth of dancehall music as evidenced by the success of Chill Slam riddim which was a collaborative effort by Chill Spot Records and Bodyslam Records.
