Ginimbi’s Lavish Supercar Collection Now Gone—Just Five Years After His Death

While the exact value of the late Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure’s supercar collection was never officially disclosed, there’s no denying it was extravagant and worth millions of dollars.

Ginimbi had a deep passion for high-end vehicles—not your average cars, but the kind of luxury and performance machines typically owned by global celebrities and elite business moguls. His taste in cars wasn’t just about transportation; it was part of his larger-than-life identity and public image.

Although not every celebrity invests in exotic cars, for many, a fleet of rare and expensive vehicles completes the persona of opulence and fame. Based on rough estimates, Ginimbi likely spent close to US$3.9 million to acquire his luxury cars.

And that figure only reflects the purchase prices. Importing the cars to Zimbabwe—specifically to his mansion in Domboshava—would have come with added costs such as shipping fees, import taxes, and possibly other undocumented expenses. Due to inconsistencies in how some vehicles were brought into the country, determining the exact final costs remains difficult.

One notable case involved his Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce, which were once seized by authorities amid accusations of under-declaring their value. These legal troubles added to the mystique—and controversy—surrounding his collection.

Despite the complications, the fleet was an achievement Ginimbi was proud of. However, just five years after his tragic death in a car accident on November 8, 2020, the once-flamboyant garage is empty.

Almost all the luxury vehicles that once made up Ginimbi’s fleet have reportedly changed hands. Several are now owned by a well-known local businessman, who is said to possess at least four of the former collection. Even the Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce that were previously seized have been sold.

Attempts to obtain official explanations from authorities regarding how those vehicles were released and sold have been unsuccessful. Efforts to speak with Ginimbi’s family have also not yielded responses.

Still, multiple sources have provided insight into what may have happened.

“It’s really sad because Ginimbi had assembled an incredible lineup of cars, and now it’s all gone,” one source shared.

Some of the vehicles, the source claimed, were sold under questionable circumstances—often at prices far below their market value. In certain cases, alleged personal relationships between the new owners and people involved in managing Ginimbi’s estate may have influenced the sales.

Speculation continues to swirl, with unconfirmed reports and rumors gaining traction. But one thing is certain: the car empire that once symbolized Ginimbi’s extravagant lifestyle has vanished.

“He might be turning in his grave,” the source added.
