Girls La Musica set for city sports gig

Pioneering dance ensemble Girls La Musica is set to serenade fans and patrons at City Sports Bar this Friday as the group introduces new members.
The group, originally from Bulawayo, that made its name as one of the finest in the country is well poised the electrify City Sports Bar with their alluring routines.
Speaking to Showbiz ahead of the Friday show, group leader, Perseverance Taurai, aka Sugar in dance circles urged fans to come in their multitudes and promised a refreshing and energetic performance.
“We are going to deliver a top drawer performance that is refreshing and energetic and I guarantee all fans and patrons that they will not regret. All they have to do is attend, as Girls La Musica we will make it worthwhile,“ she said.
‘’We are one of the pioneering groups in the trade and we have stood the test of time. Our experience will surely go a long way in entertaining fans and reviving memories of years gone by.”
Taurai also said the group’s move to Harare in January did not mean they had abandoned their home town but was all in a bid to be closer to fans and to broaden their horizons.
“We are still very much Girls La Musica, the girls from Bulawayo but the move to Harare was mainly to be closer to a certain section of the market as we felt Harare would give us more opportunities and we will be able to expand our horizons as artistes,” said Taurai.
Girls La Musica’s journey began in 2003 when her sister Priscilla Taurai formed the ensemble in Tshabalala Extension, Bulawayo. The group toured the country and at one time appeared in many musical videos among them Paradzai Messi and Njerama Boys’ all-time hit song titled Rugare .
The group fast became a darling to many dance fans and had also become a permanent feature at national galas.
Of the original founding members only Taurai and Sandra Nyandoro remain with Buhlebenkosi Ncube and Thandiwe Tshuma joining the ranks.
Girls La Musica will proceed to Hollies Night Club for another potentially explosive date on Saturday.
