Gonyeti perform at Jam Session

Since Mathius Bangure took over the management of City Sports bar last month, he has shown some serious ambition and appears to be on track to bring the much needed change on the showbiz scene.
Bangure has revamped the programming at City Sports Bar, maintaining some facets while getting rid of some.
Tonight he hosts this week’s edition of the Jam Session, one facet of the club that has made it one of the most popular spots for show goers and showmen alike.
For Bangure however, it will be the fact that he has managed to come up with a revamped list of performers of the event which often become monotonous.
Among the new performers tonight is Gonyeti, real name Pamela Zulu who recently ditched Jah Prayzah to start a solo career.
“Tonight’s gig is a bomb featuring 99% first timers. The likes of James Nyamande of Four Brothers, Ashton Sugar Chiweshe’s sons is reviving the father’s Batonga Crew, from Kwekwe’s Terry and the Bliss, Empress Iyata with a hot reggae album recently launched, Douglas Chimbetu, a lot of excitement is hovering on Gonyeti. Tonight it’s her second show as an individual with her band and we also have award winning Amanda Manyowa,” Bangure said.
“We are also after genre diversity as testified by presence of cream of the urban groovers Taurayi Mandebvu, Nesto and Mzimba. Jane Marimo makes a return, new comer Ngoni Ritala is not to be missed and we finally will have Willom Tight on the line-up.”
Bangure said he has also moved the famous China chemadzimai themed Thursday Ladies’ Night to Tuesday to ensure that it does not appear monotonous.
“The China chemadzimai concept was hatched by City Sports Bar in 2011 and to date it has extensively been adopted by many clubs countrywide. City Sports Bar being the pace setter, it becomes optimal to change gear and move on. We have thus moved it to Tuesday where there is also less congestion,” Bangure said.
