A woman informed Magistrate Meenal Naratom at the Harare Civil Court that her husband attacked her with a knife after she caught him in an affair with their domestic worker.
Caroline sought a protection order against her husband, Lovemore Majoko, accusing him of harassment and physical assault.
According to Caroline, she discovered her husband’s relationship with their housekeeper the previous weekend, which led to a confrontation and the violent incident.
“Last Sunday, I found out about my husband’s affair with our domestic worker,” she explained.
“When I confronted him, he attacked me with a knife. I managed to escape, but in the process, he ended up slashing my car tyres.”
Caroline also claimed that Lovemore had been threatening her colleagues to obtain information on her whereabouts.
“He regularly intimidates my co-workers to find out where I am,” she added.
In response, Lovemore denied the accusations, stating that Caroline was distorting the facts.
“My wife is fabricating the story. In fact, she’s been involved in extramarital affairs since July,” Lovemore said. “I have remained faithful throughout our 11-year marriage and have never assaulted or insulted her.”
Despite Lovemore’s denial, the court ruled in favor of Caroline, granting her a protection order.
