Here Are The Reasons Why Mugabe's Alleged Secret Son Takes Bona Mugabe to Court Over Estate Claims

When it was revealed that 47-year-old Tonderai Gabriel Mugabe had gone to the High Court and claimed to be the secret son of the late former president Robert Mugabe, Zimbabweans were shocked and amused at the same time.

Tonderai is now requesting a portion of the former leader’s inheritance, claiming that his late mother, Hilda Maeka, had a relationship with Mugabe.

The Standard reports that Bona Mugabe, who was chosen to oversee her father’s estate after his passing in September 2019, is the target of a lawsuit brought by Tonderai Gabriel Mugabe.

According to documents obtained by the newspaper, Tonderai has asked the court to reopen the estate proceedings in addition to requesting a portion of the estate.

In order to help acquire a birth certificate that would formally identify the late president as his father, he is requesting Robert Mugabe’s death certificate, which is essential to his claim.

Social media has seen a surge of responses to the discovery, with many Zimbabweans finding comedy in the circumstance.

Some have suggested that Tonderai should have a DNA test to verify his claims after critics noted that he doesn’t look like Mugabe or his other children.

“When Mugabe was still living, this man ought to have raised his voice. One social media user asked, “Why wait until now?” which was echoed by many others. Others hypothesized that Tonderai’s abrupt paternity declaration might be motivated by financial issues.
