His Excellency Adler Aristilde, Canadian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Botswana and Malawi hosted the ceremonial Canada Day celebrations at the Canadian Embassy’s residence, where him, his family and his staff exhibited his nation’s hospitality to his guests.
Despite the frigid weather, the event which was held on Wednesday June 26 drew a big crowd, including several ambassadors, the media, and other dignitaries.

The Chief Director of Political Affairs, Mr. Pearson T. Chigiji was the honored guest at the event. The significance of Zimbabwe’s diplomatic ties with Canada was emphasised by his presence at the event. During their speech, both Mr. Chigiji and Ambassador Aristilde emphasised the close and expanding relations between their nations.

Citing diplomatic relations, business, educational development, and cooperative initiatives, Mr. Chigiji expressed some of the opinions. He said, “Zimbabwe and Canada are always engaging at all levels something which is important for the continuous upscaling of our relations.”

The occasion underlined both countries’ commitment to working together to achieve common goals, and it served as a reminder of Canada and Zimbabwe’s long-standing and robust relationship. Despite the cold, the event was marked by a sense of unity and a common goal, which strengthens ties between the two countries.

Musician Vera and her band provided the entertainment. Her performance was particularly captivating when she performed the national anthems of Zimbabwe and Canada with grace.
