Hip-hop star Holy Ten has made a surprising public statement, calling Winky D the best musician and best-dressed artist in Zimbabwe while placing himself second.
This is a major change in tone, considering Holy Ten once called Winky D a “snake” during their past disagreements.
In an interview with ZTN presenter Erica Ndoro, Holy Ten opened up about his past mistakes, social media behaviour, and his desire to apologise both to Winky D and his wife, Kimberly.
Holy Ten said he now looks up to Winky D and dreams of collaborating with him. He blamed social media for fuelling their conflict, saying it wasn’t that serious. He even introduced Winky D to his wife as a gift, showing how much he admired him.
The rapper admitted he sometimes goes live on social media while drunk but said people misinterpret his behaviour. “I’m not on drugs,” he said. He plans to reduce his online activity because he feels it’s hurting his image.
Holy Ten also apologised to his wife for past public comments that hurt her. He revealed that some statements made during interviews and podcasts were part of a planned drama to promote his album, but they ended up affecting his family.
“I love and respect my wife,” he said. “I regret many interviews I have done because they created the wrong picture of me.”
Despite his controversies, Holy Ten believes his music is still inspiring the youth. He said he recently visited Zambia to give life advice to young girls. He also revealed that he is mentoring five new artists and has released a new album.
Holy Ten says he wants to change his public image and be seen as someone who grows and lifts others. Whether his apologies will be accepted is yet to be seen, but he is clearly trying to start a new chapter in both his personal life and music career.
