President Emmerson Mnangagwa and First Lady Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa today hosted Cabinet ministers at their expansive Pricabe Farm in Kwekwe.
This visit highlighted the farm’s agricultural prowess and showcased its significant contributions to Zimbabwe’s farming sector.
As of right now, the farm claims:- 200 hectares of barley – 30 hectares of potato crop – 300 hectares of winter wheat.
Along with goats, pigs, and chickens, Pricabe Farm is home to approximately 2,000 cattle of different varieties, including the prestigious Ankole breed.
Information Permanent Secretary, Nick Mangwana, says that Pricabe Farm is an outstanding example of agricultural brilliance that serves as an inspiration to farmers in the area.
The farm acts as a model for sustainable agriculture in Zimbabwe in addition to showcasing effective farming techniques.

However, the visit stirred a mix of reactions from the public;
Mukungunugwa noted that many Zimbabweans are unaware of President Mnangagwa’s status as one of the largest farmers in the country, emphasizing that farming is a primary source of his income.
In contrast, some voices raised concerns regarding equity in farming opportunities.
David expressed frustration over disparities in access to farming resources, stating:
“They have Title Deeds to these big farms yet many Zimbabweans do not. They have modern farming implements, but for the majority, that’s not the case.”
Mandaza Douglas reminisced about Gushungo Dairies and Farms, once a prominent agricultural site in Zimbabwe, indicating that some vital equipment had been auctioned off, raising questions about the future of such farms.
