With the support of accomplished session musicians such as pianist Lyton Ngolomi and renowned dancer Mama Bhinzi, among others, Chief Hwenje captivated the audience as a stellar performer.
“It may appear easy when we easily win the hearts of many on stage but I can safely say that it takes a lot of rehearsals and hard work behind the scenes.
“I always make sure that I leave an impression, wherever I perform, because it is my job to keep people entertained.
“I love my stage and I always want to do my best when performing at such high-profile events, which is why you see me going out of my way.”
He added:
“Those who closely followed the just-ended Uhuru bash will agree with me that all the artists came well prepared.
“The artists knew very well that it was a big occasion where they had to make an impression and honour villagers who came to the event on foot while others used ox-drawn carts to grace the event.
“It was more than a gala but a celebration of our 44th Uhuru in style.”
