SEH Calaz has urged fellow Zimdancehall artists to stop using backtracks during live shows.
The chanter said a live band helps an artist to improvise on stage.
In a Facebook post, Seh Calaz blamed some promoters, who want shortcuts, by encouraging artists to use backtracks.
“Band is the only way to go, ma promoter siyai ma shortcuts vanorarama seyi vemabhancho mukaramba muchingoda zvaka chipa zvema CD?” reads the post which has since generated a lot of debate among his fans.
Seh Calaz said it was high time promoters and artists gave fans value for their money.
“I am sure most of these artists are tired of performing to backtracks with a DJ in the background.
“The audience needs to watch more than just an artist performing but dancers on the stage and instruments too,” he said.
He urged fellow artists to borrow a leaf from Jah Prayzah, who invests a lot in live shows.
“One of the biggest artists in Zimbabwe, Jah Prayzah, got a band and his shows are always excellent to say the least,” he said
