The headmaster of Ivyluck College in Harare, Tafadzwa Chikohora (31), appeared in court yesterday on charges of misappropriating examination fees for three students who were set to take the Zimsec O’ Level exams in November 2024.
According to Herald Chikohora is accused of theft of trust property and appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi. He has been remanded in custody until tomorrow for a bail hearing.
The complainant, Mr. Lucky Sibanda, is the director of the college, which provides education from Form 1 to Form 6 but is not a registered Zimsec examination center.
According to the State, in May of this year, the college received US$729 in examination fees intended for the registration of three students for the Zimsec O’ Level exams at Ellis Robins High School, a registered center.

It is alleged that Chikohora misappropriated the examination fees for personal use and failed to register the students as required. The court was informed that he attempted to cover his actions by submitting four forged entry statements, falsely indicating that the students had been registered for the exams.
Furthermore, the State claims that Chikohora created counterfeit Zimsec examination papers, allowing the students to take these fraudulent exams at the laboratory of Ellis Robins High School. After the examinations were completed, he reportedly destroyed the counterfeit papers to hide his wrongdoing.
The scheme came to light when students began discussing the content of the exam papers, raising suspicions that led to Chikohora’s arrest. The State revealed that copies of the fake examination papers were found on Chikohora’s phone.
The total amount involved is US$729, and no funds have been recovered.
