A leading microfinance institution in Harare is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Principal Officer to join its team. With a minimum of five years’ experience in the microfinance or financial services sector, particularly in lending, the ideal candidate will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities:
The Principal Officer will be responsible for managing and leading microfinance operations, including loan origination, disbursement, and recovery. Other duties will include:
- Designing and implementing policies to ensure efficient service delivery.
Overseeing administrative functions, including document filing and regulatory compliance.
Acting as the primary point of contact for all inquiries from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) and regulatory bodies.
Ensuring strict adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
Formulating marketing strategies and business growth initiatives.
Analyzing financial data to uncover growth opportunities.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulators.
Mentoring and training staff to improve performance and skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
A Master’s degree is advantageous.
At least 5 years of experience in microfinance or financial services, with a background in lending.
A strong understanding of microfinance products and services.
A proven track record in business growth and leadership.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze financial data and make strategic decisions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial software.
