The Faircape Group, renowned for owning and managing six upscale retirement and lifestyle villages across the Western Cape, is seeking a talented and experienced Hairdresser to provide top-tier hairdressing services to residents at Onrus Manor.
The village includes a cutting-edge Healthcare Centre and serves a diverse range of clients, including frail, mental health, sub-acute, and assisted living patients.
Our villages are conveniently located in prime areas such as Somerset West (Bridgewater and Heritage Manor), Tokai (Tokai Estate), Kirstenhof (Cle du Cap), Noordhoek (Noordhoek Manor), and Onrus River (Onrus Manor).
Responsibilities:
- Consult with clients to understand their preferences and specific hair needs.
- Advise clients on suitable hairstyles, haircuts, and color options based on their features and hair type.
- Perform haircuts, trims, and shaping as per client requests, including services for wigs, extensions, and hairpieces.
- Wash, condition, and dry clients’ hair.
- Provide hair coloring services, ensuring that any allergies or sensitivities are addressed.
- Utilize a variety of hairstyling tools (e.g., straighteners, curling irons, hairdryers) to achieve the desired results.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sterilize all tools in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Work in a vibrant and friendly environment, offering a relaxed yet efficient atmosphere for clients.
- Build rapport with residents from diverse backgrounds and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Ensure a tidy work area and follow all safety and Covid-19 protocols.

Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent communication skills and attentive to client preferences.

- Patient, detail-oriented, and able to follow directions effectively.
Requirements:
- Positive references from previous employers.
- Clear health, credit, and criminal records.
- Full cosmetology license or specific hairdressing certification.
- QCTO – Occupational Certificate in Hairdressing (NQF Level 4) or equivalent trade test certificate.
- Proven experience in hairdressing, styling, coloring, and cutting.
- Experience with modern styling techniques and the latest hair trends.
- Strong understanding of coloring methods and knowledge of classic and creative cutting techniques.
- Dependable and punctual with an excellent customer service ethic.
