UNICEF Zimbabwe is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Chief of Communication, Advocacy, and Partnerships.
This fixed-term appointment offers a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and women in Zimbabwe by developing and managing communication strategies that promote children’s rights and support UNICEF’s mission.
Key Responsibilities: The Chief will be responsible for creating and implementing an effective advocacy and communication strategy, working closely with the media, and managing relationships with key stakeholders. The role includes:
- Developing a communication strategy to promote children’s issues and strengthen UNICEF’s credibility.
- Managing media relations, ensuring consistent communication with journalists and media outlets.
- Expanding partnerships with the UN Country Team, NGOs, celebrities, and other influential individuals.
- Supporting global campaigns and resource mobilization efforts through targeted communication.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of communication strategies.
- Providing advice on gender equality and capacity building within the communication team.

Qualifications and Experience:
- A Master’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field (or a Bachelor’s degree with additional relevant experience).
- At least 10 years of professional experience in communication, media relations, or public relations, including experience working in both developed and developing countries.
- Experience in emergency situations and familiarity with global communication strategies is beneficial.
- Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of another UN language or local languages is an advantage.
