FLAMBOYANT sound house Judgement Yard has officially shifted their Mad Sundays gig from Red Fox.
The respected sound movement last week moved to The Volt club, a new place that has of late been attracting scores of revellers. Situated along Samora Machel Avenue, the new venue is strategic as uit is in the CBD.
Judgement Yard Mad Sundays have been part of the Red Fox weekly programme for the past six years. The departure of the internationally acclaimed sound house also coincides with renovations that are set to take place at the Red Fox.
Part of the transformation has already begun and the process is expected to be complete by end of August.
Speaking in an interview last week, turn-table superstar DJ Flevah, real name Tendai Tembo, confirmed the move.
“We ended our romance with Red Fox almost a month ago and we are happy with our new deal here. It’s is more like we are starting afresh, rebranding,” he said.
“The show has been running at Red Fox for the past seven years and we thank Elder Robert Zhuwao for giving us the opportunity and privilege to play at the venue. It was indeed a lengthy rewarding and family strengthening period that saw us gather and share good music vibes at this centre (Red Fox). May he continue to bless more soundman.”
The Volt proprietor Spencer Madziya aka Boss Spencer said he was delighted to add more firepower to his joint. “We have a very strong team already but Judgement Yard is one of the finest. So their coming on board is very much pleasing to us because it makes us an even stronger force in the showbiz industry,” said Boss Spencer.
