The much-anticipated ruling on the abandoned match between Karoi United and Scottland has been delayed as Karoi United requested more time to submit a mitigation report after being found guilty.
The Northern Region Soccer League (NRSL) Disciplinary Committee concluded that Karoi United was at fault for the match abandonment that occurred last month.
The game was halted in the 82nd minute when referee Matthew Dingo reported experiencing severe pain in “one of his testicles” after being struck by a “hard object.” He also noted bleeding from his shin due to the impact.
In a statement released yesterday, the NRSL confirmed that the decision will be announced by Monday at the latest, stating:
“In the disciplinary proceedings regarding the abandoned match between Karoi United FC and Scottland FC, after the guilty verdict was issued for Karoi United FC, their lawyer requested additional time to provide written mitigation by the end of business on Friday, November 1.”
The Disciplinary Committee is expected to award Scottland the three points on Monday, irrespective of Karoi United’s mitigation.
Depending on the outcomes of upcoming matches involving title contenders MWOS FC and Scottland, Scottland could climb to the top of the league standings.
Currently, MWOS leads by one point, but a win for Scottland against Herentals Under-20 would place them at the top pending the resolution of their case against Karoi United.

If both teams secure victories in their remaining matches, Scottland could finish first with a two-point lead. Meanwhile, MWOS would lose control over their fate and would need other teams to defeat Scottland.
Only one team from the Northern Region Soccer League will be promoted to the Premier Soccer League for the 2025 season, intensifying the competition further.
