A red carpet will be rolled out to guests tonight at the reopening of Garwe Restaurant located in Eastlea headlined by South African reality TV star and musician Kelly Khumalo of the Empini fame.
The restaurant had closed doors in 2018 to pave way for massive renovations following USD2 million capital injection as Zimbabwe prepares for post-Covid 19 era.
Previously, Garwe Restaurant was popular among diners for its signature traditional dishes.
The relaunch has not only brought back the traditional dishes but also an addition of western styles on the menu, a real treat for gastronomic adventure. The revamped Garwe Restaurant can sit 200 diners at any given time enjoying the environment while observing the Covid-19 protocols.
Added to this, Garwe Restaurant now boasts a well stocked bar for those who love to sample different cuisines and drink alcoholic beverages.
Owner Mandy Mvukwe-Chimhini was elated about the reopening. “We are delighted to be back as one of the finest restaurants in the country. We have put together an exceptional line up for a beautiful event tonight. We have the privilege of hosting one of Africa’s finest musicians, Kelly Khumalo. She has confirmed that she will be joining us. We are looking forward to offering our local Zimbabweans and international guests the best of Zimbabwean, African and Western cuisines. As we positively contribute to the growth and promotion of Cullinary activities and tourism industry. Our hope is to contribute effectively to the 5 billion dollar tourism economy and ultimately realise vision 2030.” said Mvukwe-Chimhini, Garwe.
