Learmore Jonasi progressed to the America’s Got Talent semifinals, and Howie Mandel supported him to become the first comic to win the entire competition.
Aerialist Kelsey Jane and adolescent singer Reid Wilson were the first two acts to advance into the semifinals during the one-hour results show, with the 31-year-old Zimbabwean stand-up comedian coming in last.
Earlier in season 19, program presenter Terry Crews, 56, used his Golden Buzzer to send Learnmore directly to the live events and inquired about the comedian’s response when he made it to the semifinals.
‘I cannot believe it. What? What?,’ Learnmore exclaimed in a voice filled with emotion.
Terry next asked Howie, 68, a longtime champion of comics on the NBC show, if he had anything to say to Learnmore

“I want to say that I’ve been waiting for comedians to take this all for 15 years,” Howie remarked.
“You are capable of succeeding.” You’re talented. Howie said, “You are amazing.”
With excitement, Learnmore said, “Thank you.”
I wish you luck in completing the task. If a comic took home the prize, it would be fantastic for both of us. Howie remarked, “Congratulations, young man.”
Since the show’s June 2006 debut, a comedian has not yet taken home the trophy on America’s Got Talent.
After defeating Journeyy, a young vocalist, and guitarist Maya Neelakantan at the conclusion of the results episode, Learnmore was placed in the semifinals.
Howie and Terry had earlier rejoiced when Learnmore defeated Jelly Boy The Clown to guarantee his spot among the final five acts.
The removal of Menudo, magician Sam Huang, The Reklaws, and dance group Sabrina also occurred in the results broadcast. Heidi Klum’s Golden Buzzer for singer and San Quentin Prison nurse Dee Dee Simon on Tuesday sent her to the finals.
