Lisa Morgan ventures into business

By Nigel Pfunde

Former top model and Miss Universe Zimbabwe (2011), Lisa Morgan has defied the stereotypical notion that models have beauty without brains.

Lisa has taken the entrepreneurial route and has invaded the hospitality industry and is now running an upmarket restaurant called Queens located at a serene environment in Milton Park.

The restaurant opened shop a few months ago but has already become a hit with diners.

“I have always loved cooking and that passion was my main inspiration and I am one person who loves to work for myself,” Lisa said.

The restaurant was endorsed by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority and ZTA boss Givemore Chidzidzi who officiated at the official opening and showered praises on Lisa.

He said the restaurant was one of the few licensed outlets and ZTA will be on a clampdown for unlicensed operators.

Lisa revealed that on September 10 she would host a special couples’ buffet dinner where a raffle would be conducted with diners getting a chance to win a trip to a local holiday resort of their choice and movie tickets.

Popular marriage counsellor Mai Gunguwo will be the main speaker of the night and surprise comedians will also perform”

“We want couples to enjoy our cuisine and dishes at only $40 per couple and we will conduct a raffle as well,” said Lisa.

The holiday will be sponsored by Showman Tours.

Among other former models who have taken up business route include Vannessa Sibanda who is in the music business and Rumbi Erin Feremenga who is into events management
