SUNGURA king Alick Macheso and Zim dancehall star Soul Jah Love had the 60 000 strong crowd at the National Sports Stadium eating from their hands yesterday when they performed at the Defence Forces Day celebrations.
Macheso set the ball rolling in the morning, churning out old and new hits as people trickled into the stadium. After President Mugabe’s speech, Macheso played a few more songs before giving way to the defence forces for some drills and breath-taking displays.
Just after the military drills, Macheso then gave way to Soul Jah Love, who arrived at the venue a bit late since he was travelling from Bulawayo where he had had a show the previous night. Soul Jah Love made a great entry with his song, Zvinhu, which is rocking the Zimbabwean music industry. He also performed other songs including, Pamamonya Ipapo and Mwana WaStembeni.
